Céilí calling

A céilí (pronounced “KAY-lee”) is a traditional Irish social gathering that features music, dancing, food, and drink. A céilí creates a vibrant atmosphere, encouraging people of all ages and dancing abilities to participate while building a sense of community and cooperation.

Céilís are often guided by a caller who briefly explains each dance and then “calls” the figures and movements out while the crowd is dancing. Kate calls Irish céilí dances regularly in the DC and Baltimore areas for local clubs and community groups.
